Am I that far off from being a Post Millenialist anyway?
My take on the amillenial position is a positive one. I see the wheat and the tares growing up together and God separating them at the eschaton
(sp?).
Amil is often called pessimistic and I aver that alot of amil writers are. I, however see the Church as much more victorious in history than some
amils would. Though I admit I really do not see in the Scriptures where the world is "Christianized" by the work of the Church before Christ's
return. Perhaps I'm missing somthing?
I do agree that Christ has said the gates of Hell will not prevail against his Church, and I believe that victory is ours not just in the world to
come but in the here and now as well.
Am I making sense? Does my ideology seem reasonable? Or am I just confused?

Note that gates are defensive, not offensive. It is the church that has the victory in history.

Could you elaborate Daniel?
I really do want to look into this more.
I get what you're saying about gates. Can you add more?

Sorry, but what would you like to be elaborated?
The "gates of hell" seems to be a reference to the defeat of Satan's kingdom in history.

In other words Jesus is putting (present participle active) his "boot" to Hell's doors and they are unable to withstand it.

Elaborate is probably the wrong word. I get what you mean about the gates. Are there any other points of Scripture you'd add? I'd like to flesh this
out in my studies.

If I may: 1 Cor. 15.24ff is a place to start.
